Brick-Stainable Competition

Potomac Valley Brick created the "Brick-Stainable - Re-Thinking Brick" competition to advance thinking about integrated design solutions for sustainability using clay masonry (brick) as a primary material. On December 11, 2009, Brick-Stainable winners were selected by a prestigious panel of jurors which included Carnegie Mellon Architecture Professor Vivian Loftness, University of Maryland School of Architecture Dean and Professor Garth Rockcastle, IDEO Practice Lead and Material Scientist Kara Johnson, and AXIM Director of Marketing Martin Vachon.  Tonal Vision was there to film the process and interview the jurors.  From this footage, we created a series of slides and videos for the awards celebration, which was held at the National Building Museum on January 27, 2010.  Below are web versions of these materials.  The last video is a web promotion for the 2nd competition in 2011.
