What to Expect

Welcome to Mice in the Attic! We’re excited to have you perform with us. To make sure your experience on the show is as easy as possible, we want to give you a general idea of what to expect. If you have questions, contact our host, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Depending on the options you chose, your "Mice in the Attic" episode will either stream live to Facebook from 7:00-7:30 on the agreed Thursday, or it will be prerecorded and broadcast at that time.

Tonal Vision is located at 1607 Lancaster St, Baltimore, MD 21231 in a row house in Fell’s Point built in the mid-1800’s. Free parking is available on on the street (2 hour limit) if there are open spots. There is also metered parking on Broadway and Thames Streets and a low cost ($5) parking garage on Caroline St. just south of Lancaster. Two hours of free on-street parking should be enough for the broadcast, but if you do end up needing to pay to park, we will reimburse you.

In addition to stuffed and animated mice, Tonal Vision has two actual live dogs, Penny and Joey, who will want to greet and play with you. If you have dog allergies or are afraid of dogs, please let us know in advance.

Some basics:

  • Our studio is located on the third floor and is roughly 12’x12’. Because of the limited space and the narrow stairs leading up to it, it is best for 1-3 performers with smaller acoustic instruments.
  • We do not have viewing space for friends who would like to watch the show. If you do bring friends, they’ll need to watch the stream from downstairs.
  • Do not bring a keyboard, large instruments (e.g., standing bass or large bass drum), or large amps without discussing in advance with Alex. The studio will provide an electric piano and a small amp.
  • Perform only original material (see What About Cover Bands.

Please provide in advance:

  • Your genre
  • What is a ‘fun fact’ you would like your audience to know? (Some take this as an opportunity to mention a new record or promote an upcoming show, but you can choose any ‘fun fact’ you like.)
  • The biography you’d like us to work from, and
  • A graphic of you that we can display. This can be a photo, the cover from your latest album, your logo, or anything else you’d like to have represent you.

Alex will begin the episode with a brief introduction, including your genre and a fact about you, and then you will have 15 to 20 minutes of performance time. Following your performance, we will have a 15 to 10 minute interview. To best prepare the topics for your interview, Alex will schedule a 30-minute phone call with you in the week leading up to your episode.

Remember to invite your friends to this Facebook event (@MiceInAttic).

If for any reason you are unable to perform on this date and need to reschedule, let us know ASAP. We’ll be spending money promoting your performance and don’t want to disappoint you fans.
