“Mice in the Attic” is Tonal Vision’s biweekly streaming music series designed to showcase the depth and breadth of Baltimore’s music scene and to give up-and-coming performers the opportunity for broader exposure. Alex Carle is the host of the series.
We are looking for diverse performers who represent a variety of musical genres, instruments and ethnicities/cultures. Acts are welcome to incorporate other art forms into their performance, but we want to keep music as the focus of the show.
During Season 1, “Mice in the Attic” broadcast exclusively from Tonal Vision’s third floor “attic” studio. Episodes streamed live to Facebook (@MiceInAttic) every other Thursday from 7:00-7:30 pm. The first episode was Oct. 25, 2018 and the Season finale was Oct. 24, 2019.
New Season 2 Options
Season 2 of Mice in the Attic will continue to live-stream from our studio, but we will also add pre-recorded events and performances in other locations in order to broaden the range of music offered by the show. Current options are:
- Broadcast live from our studio: Anyone requesting to perform on the show can choose one of our unscheduled dates. We'll live-stream your performance and interview to Facebook and will also provide an edited version plus photos within about a week.
- Pre-record your performance in our studio for broadcast later: This allows you to choose a convenient date. It's also low pressure because we will be editing the performance before it is released and so can edit out any problems. Your performance will be released on Facebook, YouTube and Vimeo on the next available date. If you are recording in our studio, it's easiest if we film your performance on a Thursday evening when we aren't live-streaming.
- Pre-record your performance at a live event and/or in a location of your choosing for broadcast later: Your interview will occur on location before or after the performance. This gives us the flexibility to include bigger bands and/or those with instrumentation that can't easily fit in our 12x12' studio. It also allows us to film more prominent acts and events that we couldn't otherwise include. If we are filming a longer performance or event, we'll provide you with an edited copy of the entire performance, and we'll use ~15 min. of your original songs plus the interview in our Mice in the Attic episode.
