Bio

Ariella Joy has been writing and performing her original music since she was fifteen. While playing both guitar and piano, she has developed a large catalog of expressive originals and unique covers that appeal to all audiences.

When asked about her writing process, Ariella notes that the songs often come pouring out of her. She starts with a single concept or lyric and sees where it takes her. Ariella writes about her personal experiences and expresses them in a way that is refreshing and relatable. As a singer-songwriter, Ariella Joy is often compared to Alanis Morissette and Christina Perri. She feels strongly influenced by Mary Lambert and Regina Spektor, to name a few.

In addition to her original music, Ariella has a wide repertoire of covers. Her unique covers include an acoustic rendition of "Crazy in Love" by Beyonce and "Torn" by Natalie Imbruglia. As an artist, Ariella is fascinated by the similarities she can find between two songs and will use these keen observations to seamlessly combine them into a mash-up.

Ariella's debut EP "The Last Three Hours" is available now! It was recorded at Harbour Red Studios and features four original songs. You can purchase a digital download right from the store on this site or stream it online wherever you get your music from. Come see Ariella at one of her live shows around her hometown of Baltimore and all over the DMV area.
